  I actually recently discovered that our skin cells need two different proteins to work together recognise that they’re infected with a virus. This was quite big as everyone thought that they had it all figured out!
  
  Using some genetic tools, we made some cells that didn’t have one of the proteins and found they weren’t able to respond to infection any more. We just published this as a big paper last month! http://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14392
