      PhD’s are sort of a roller-coaster. Sometimes you have rough patches when nothing can work for awhile and that can be really tough. However when things are working, a PhD can be a really interesting and fun thing to do. Often you want to come to work because you want to know the result of an experiment. Especially if it’s something a bit out there, it can feel really satisfying and rewarding

    It is hard but it’s worth it. It’s like being your own boss and the work you do is totally your own. Which means that if it doesn’t work it’s your fault, but if it does then it’s really exciting! It’s a huge challenge both emotionally and personally but it becomes an obsession!
