People and dogs actually share about 80% of the same DNA sequence. So you could put about 80% of your DNA into your Pitbull and it wouldn’t make a difference.
You could put your DNA into your adult pitbull and it would probably make it very sick. But if you put your DNA into a pitbull embryo (like a puppy when it’s still in the mum) then you could make a pitbull that had your DNA in it’s cells.
Scientists do this with mice to see what DNA does. If you have a person with a disease caused by broken DNA, you can put that broken DNA sequence into a mouse embryo, and when it grows up it will have the disease and you can do experiments to see how the gene causes the disease.
