      Hello!

I like the fact that science is very much like a puzzle. You have lots of different clues (if I do this experiment, this happens; if I do that one, something else happens) and you have to put all the evidence together to explain what is going on. It’s a bit like detective work, except that you end up finding something that is quite general (“hearts work like this”), rather than specific to a given situation/crime.

The freedom to answer the questions that interest you and being your own boss.

Science is flexible and unexpected. You might start answering one question and then get an answer and it’ll take you in a totally different direction, and if you get bored of that then you can start looking at something connected or different. It’s so flexible that you can always find something that you’re passionate about to spend your time studying.

Like Marta I like working out science problems like puzzles. It can be quite fun to try work out the “bigger picture” using lots of clues from your experiments. It can also be fun to take this approach to designing your experiments better.

I like how science is pretty flexible and how everyday is usually different. I get bored and restless easy so it’s nice to be able to change my day on a whim.
