• Question: Will we ever find a cure for cancer?

      Hi Oskar.

      I hope so. Lots of money and effort is being put into that, so we will hopefully get there. It seems like a very difficult problem though, so it might take a long time!

      While a cure is still a bit away, we are making big strides in understanding how cancer evades the immune system and immune therapies are looking really promising in clinical trials as well.

      I think that further research will be need as immune therapies are resource intensive and expensive and will be hard to give to everyone cheaply. Ideally we will be able to use the immune system as it is to cure cancer, we just need to figure out how to stop the cancer switching the immune system off!
