• Question: Wouldn't there be too many diseases to raise money for?

      Well for the event I planned, it only focuses on one disease. If I had loads and loads of money I would put on more events for more diseases.

      It’s difficult making people aware and getting them interested about uncommon diseases, but I don’t think that’s a reason not to try. Every little bit of money helps someone.

      I think the point is to make sure the money is spread more equally between charities. When people have money to donate to a disease they often pick something “popular” or well known, which is great, but a lot of the time it’s because they aren’t aware of all their options.

      The way I see it, if money was distributed more broadly to different charities, then researchers would feel more confident studying them – studying a rare disease is a risk because there might not be funding for a lot of research. This way more rare diseases could get more research done towards finding a cure and this will help people.
