      That is a really good question. There are lots of different types of neurons – and we classify them using different criteria. For example, the brain area they’re in, or the chemicals they release (neurotransmitters) or what they look like (anatomy) or the type of electrical activity they have (physiology). If you want to see a really amazing looking neuron look up Purkinje cells – which are named after the scientist who described them.
