• Question: Did you ever get worried about you schoolwork and studies?

      I’m a very anxious person so I tended to fret about exams a lot. I really like learning but HATE exams. Most of my time at university was spent learning how to get less stressed about exam time.

      Hi Carly.

      Yes, of course, all the time. I still do and wake up at night wondering if I didn’t forget to submit something or what I could do to improve this or that part of my work.

      I find that worrying is good to the extent it shows you care about doing the best you can. If worrying is draining your time and energy though, then it is no longer productive and I try to tell myself to stop worrying and get things done instead!

      Hi Carly, I think that worrying happens when you care about something. I did worry about school work and exams, but I think that it meant that I tried harder. However, worrying too much can make you anxious and not able to focus properly so you have to find a way to balance that out. Also worrying too much means it stops being fun – and I think that I learn better when I am enjoying what I am doing.

      Hey!

      I did, I used to worry about exams and deadlines, and I still do. It’s normal to worry about school work, but remember it’s not forever. A bit of worrying is normal and can help motivate you to get your work done. But sooner or later you won’t have to worry about it anymore. So try not to worry about worrying!

      If you find that you worry so much that you can’t eat or sleep or function, you might have anxiety, which is very common, and you should talk to your teacher or dr and see what they can do to help. I got some counseling to help with my anxiety and it was a great help.
