Not so much while I was studying. Now that I do research, I have a few colleagues that work on very similar projects to mine. It is nice to share ideas with them (I learn lots of interesting things from them too), show them what you have found out and try to help them when they stuck with a problem in their research.

Do you have a study partner?

I work as part of a team in my research. We share ideas and help one another out when we’re stuck with problems with experiments. There’s a really nice sense of support

I have a lab that helps me, but I’m the only person in my lab that does the experiments that I do so a lot of the time I’m on my own. It’s challenging sometimes but I love a challenge.

I think that it is really important to have people around you who can help you with what you do, even if it is just discussing possible ideas.
When I was in school I used to study with a very good friend of mine, and it was really useful to have someone to discuss things with. Also, I think that it is a good test of how well you know something to try and explain it someone else.
In the lab now there are lots of people who do lots of different things which is great because you can always find someone to help you with what you need to do. Also, you get to learn loads of cool new stuff!
