I will try to help figure out how these diseases called cardiac arrhythmias happen and how best to treat them. Lots of people suffer from them so whatever I can discover should help them.

I try to understand how skin cells detect viruses. If we understand this we can make drugs to help ours cell fight back better or exploit how the immune system works to make stronger and safer vaccines.

By finding out which genetic mutations cause cancer, new treatments can be made, and individual patients could be treated in a more “personalised” way depending on which mutations they have, so that their treatment is more effective.

This new field is called “Precision Medicine” or “Personalised Medicine” and I hope it will be the future.
