      Some people are born with a condition called SCID ( which stands for Severe combined immunodeficiency) which means for one of many reasons they don’t have a properly functional immune system.

      Babies who are born with SCID are often really sick and unless they get bone marrow transplants will often die from a severe infection in their first year of life.
